The First Whaling Trip is a publication written and illustrated by 2004-2005 first and second graders from Nuiqsut Trapper School and edited by Bernice Kaigelak. Funds for this publication were made possible by the ECHO Grant. The book is about two cousins, Tuluk and Iqaluk, that go on their first whaling trip and help spot a 55 ft. whale that feeds the entire village of Nuiqsut.
